McCOOK, Neb. -- A promoter for the Red Willow County Raceway entered a not guilty plea to a felony bad check charge last week in Red Willow County District Court.

Kristie Brittain of 915 Westridge in McCook is facing a Class 3 felony offense for allegedly issuing a $4,000 bad check to Rick Salem in June, according to court documents.

The check was written on the dba account of the Red Willow County Raceway.

Brittain was subsequently scheduled for a status hearing at 9:15 a.m. on March 12, 2015.

In Nebraska, Class 3 felonies carry a maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment and a $20,000 fine.

Promoters Kristie and Rodney Brittain announced in August the raceway would be closed for the remainder of the season, canceling at least four race nights scheduled in August and September.
