McCOOK, Neb. -- Cecelia Felker, age 87, died at Hillcrest Nursing Home on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014.

She was born in Portland, Oregon, on Nov. 23, 1927, to Fred and Matilda (Deutsch) McConnell. The family moved to Oconto, Nebraska, when Cecelia was five years old. She attended and graduated from Oconto High School. She went to Kearney State Teachers College, earning her degree. Ceceila taught in Merna and Culbertson, Nebraska.

On Dec. 28, 1955, Cecelia was united in marraige to Ralph Felker in North Platte, Nebraska. To this union five children were born: Gregg, Dean Burt, Bryce and Jeannie. The couple made their home in Culbertson. Cecelia was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Jeannie and a brother, Joseph McConnell.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph of McCook; four sons, Gregg and wife, Lorre of O'Neil, Nebraska, Dean of Hastings, Burt and wife, Lisa, and Bryce and wife, Mindy, all of McCook; four grandchildren, Bryan, Breanna, Madison and Hunter; one brother, Robert and wife, Verna McConnell of Talent, Oregon; and one sister, Ellen Lunch of Tyler, Texas.

Visitation for Cecelia wil be Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.. To comply with Cecelia's wishes, a private family service will be held and burial will be in the Culbertson Cemetery with Pastor Bradley Rick officiating.

Memorials may be left in Cecelia's name to either St. John's Luthern Church or the Culbertson Library. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com.
