Accidents

FEB. 6, 2014;

4:30 p.m., East B Street -- a tractor trailer driven by Timothy W. Holley, 47, Gothenburg, Nebraska, while turning onto East Fourth Street from East B Street was struck by a red, Dodge, flatbed pickup with a large cattle guard, which fled the scene. The impact caused an estimated $3,500 in damage to the trailer Holley's vehicle was pulling.

FEB. 9, 2014;

6:07 p.m., West J Street -- an SUV driven by Alexander J. Parker, 18, Sutherland, Nebraska, while turning from Norris Avenue onto West J Street, slid into the side of a vehicle stopped at a stop sign, driven by Kaleb J. Tuxhorn, 16, 1608 W. Second Street. The impact caused an estimated $1,700 in damage.

FEB. 16, 2014;

4:31 p.m., U.S. Highway 6 and 34 -- a tractor trailer traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 6 and 34, driven by Glendon A. Bruening, 63, Elk City, Oklahoma, pulled from an ending right lane into a middle lane occupied by an SUV driven by Gloriela Trejo Centeno, 36, San Benito, Texas. The action caused Centeno to jump a curbed median in order to avoid a collision, which was unsuccessful as a trailer being pulled by Bruening struck the passenger side of Centeno's SUV. The impact caused an estimated $1,500 in damage to Centeno's SUV and no reported injuries.

12:06 p.m., AmFirst Bank parking lot -- a van driven by James E. Keith, 64, 316 Pawnee Drive, collided with a pickup driven by Jesus O Guana Maldonado, 20, 715 Westridge Parkway, causing an estimated $1,500 in combined vehicle damage.

3:23 p.m., 212 Norris Avenue -- a mini-van driven by Earl D. Svoboda, 81, 506 West 10th Street, struck a parked pickup owned by Eric M. Scarbrough, age unavailable, 606 West 10th Street, while attempting to park. The impact caused an estimated $3,000 in combined vehicle damage.
