Bradford and Kathryn Potthoff

WESTON, Nebraska -- Kathryn Marie Bartek of Touhy, Nebraska, and Bradford James Potthoff of McCook, Nebraska, were united in marriage April 27, 2013, at St. John Nepomucene in Weston, Nebraska, with Rev. Christopher Goodwin officiating.

Parents of the bride are Patrick and Loraine Bartek of Weston. Grandparents are Leonard and Loretta Snitily of Prague, Nebraska and the late Adolph and Helen Bartek.

Parents of the bridegroom are Darrel and Joyce Potthoff of Lincoln, Nebraska, formerly of McCook. Grandparents are Elvira Potthoff of McCook and Gordon and Marilyn O'Dea Bohl of Arvada, Colorado.

Maids of honor were Michelle Oberhauser of Mount Vernon, Washington and Liz Sutton of Wahoo, Nebraska, sisters of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Christine Elder of Imperal, Nicole Shafer and Emily Christensen and junior bridesmaid, Alivia Bartek, sister of the bride. The bride's personal attendant was Melisssa Ruzicka.

The best man was Adam Potthoff, brother of the bridegroom, of Lincoln.

Bridegroomsmen were Karl Shaddock of McCook, Ryan Saalfeld and Tony Purvis, both of Kearney, Nebraska, and Nicholas Bartek, brother of the bride, of Weston.

Ushers were Paul Sutton, brother-in-law of the bride, Joey Vondras, Mark Rogers and Al Wheeler, friends of the bridegroom.

Flower girls were Brandi Sutton, niece of the bride and Nina Kastl, cousin of the bride. Ring bearers were Gavin Sutton, nephew of the bride and Charles Kastl, cousin of the bride.

Cousins of the bridegroom, Madison Koepke and Mallory Koepke of McCook, handed out bubbles and popcorn to guests.

Guest book attendants were Tara Bartek, cousin of the bride and Kelsey O'Dea Hardin, cousin of the bridegroom.

Music was a string quartet of Rose Hunter, Ross Minton, Alex Bischoff, Trevor Minton, friends of the bridegroom.

A reception followed at the Rococo theatre in downtown Lincoln. Host couples were Andrew and Lori O'Dea and Steven and Dawn O'Dea, aunts and uncles of the bridegroom and Ernie and Ray Snitly and Paul and Adele Bartek, aunts and uncles of the bride. Cake cutters were Delores Snitly and Phyllis Wynegar, aunts of the bride and Beth O'Dea and Dr. Sandra Potthoff, aunts of the bridegroom.

The reception designer was Bobbi Lukow, cousin of the bridegroom.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Jamaica.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom's parents at Country Pines in Lincoln. Guests were entertained by the Polka Dudes to honor the bride's Czechoslovakian heritage.

At the wedding, a set of candlesticks were used from the bride's side of the family. The candlesticks have been in family weddings since a great-aunt originally used them in 1949. The candlesticks were in the bride's grandparents wedding, as well as in six of the grandmother's siblings, 17 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. They have been used in wedding anniversary parties as well: five 25th, a 30th, 40th and four 50th anniveraries.

Honored guests were the couples' grandparents.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of Bishop Neumann High School in Wahoo and 2010 graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing. She is employed at Sky Ridge Medical Center in the ICU.

The bridegroom is a 2006 graduate of McCook High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He is employed as a credit analyst with General Motors Financial in Denver.

The couple will live in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
