It didn't rain

on our parade!

Dear Editor,

Thankfully, it did rain last night! About an inch or so around here. A much-needed and appreciated precursor to our Heritage Days Celebration!

What a nice day with a spectacular parade, as well as many other programs and exhibits.

Such fine music from those kids from schools in our bailiwick, as they marched to the cadence of their drums and instruments down George Norris Ave!

George, and our many other predecessors, would have been so proud of them! I was impressed at the friendly response of the people from our town and county, as well as from the folks from our neighboring communities. They clapped and cheered for them as each band marched by.

How nice to have our kids, and those of our neighbors, come in and play for us! A tremendous effort and talent on display, that shows us just how good they all are; our future young moms and dads.

Do you suppose some of those bands would play for us in our neat band shell at Norris Park if invited to do so? That would be frosting on the cake, as well as all the other goodies in the park and the many other venues, around town.
