Letter to the Editor

Heartfelt thanks

Monday, September 30, 2013

Dear Editor,

Over the past six weeks, 16 communities in the Great Plains Chapter held a Walk to End Alzheimer's, including here in McCook, Nebraska.

We'd like to send a heartfelt thank you to all of the sponsors, volunteers, and Walkers who made the event a success. Most of all, a special thank you to Carrie Boyd-Johnson, who chaired the event in 2013 and worked all year long to make the Walk to End Alzheimer's a success.

This Walk was one of more than 650 nationwide, all dedicated to raising funds and awareness about this devastating disease. Alzheimer's is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S., and the only one of the top 10 with no known cure, treatment, or preventative available.

With the help of so many dedicated volunteers and Walkers, we're making a difference!

Mark Taylor Feit

Alzheimer's Association,

Great Plains Chapter
