Benefit dinner Sunday at Knights of Columbus Hall

McCOOK, Nebraska -- When Erin Werkmeister was just about to finish up her nursing degree four years ago, she became ill and was diagnosed with a debilitating disease called gastroparesis. Unable to work, she has been traveling between McCook and Omaha for medical care, putting further strain on the family finances.

A free will donation dinner for the Troy and Erin Werkmeister family will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 308 East 9th in McCook. A silent auction also will be conducted, and Cassie Spencer will have Premier Jewelry for sale. All proceeds will go to the couple and their four boys, Ethan, Zach, Cameron and Collin.
