Leona (Bible) Wolfram

ATWOOD, Kansas -- Leona Alta Wolfram, 94, of Atwood, Kansas, passed away Aug. 10, 2013 at Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.

She was born Aug. 7, 1919, in Hayes County, Kansas, to Emillie Hansen and Orie Otto Bible. She graduated from Savannah High School near Indianola, Nebraska, in 1937. She married Hiram Clapp and to this union two children were born; Virginia and Gary. She married Gerald Wolfram on Aug. 18, 1955, in Herndon, Kansas.

She was a caretaker/housewife. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren, as well as square dancing with her friend and long-time companion, Roy Crist, who brought great love and joy to her life. While living in Atwood, she attended the United Methodist Church and was involved in helping at the Senior Center and volunteering within the community.

She is proceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald (Bud) Wolfram; her long-time companion, Roy Crist; her son, Gary Clapp; her brothers, Richard, Earnest, and Jimmy Bible; her sisters, Irma Adams and Rachel Porter and her great-granddaughter, Kailee Clapp.

Survivors include her siblings, Geneva Cohn of Denver, Colorado, Margaret Moore of Benkelman, Nebraska, Albert Bible and Jerri Beinhoff, Holdrege, Nebraska, Kathy Nelson; her daughter-in-law, Janette Clapp, McCook, Nebraska, six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Atwood United Methodist Church, Atwood, Kansas, with Pastor Connie Wooldridge officiating. Interment will be at Evangelical Cemetery in Herndon, Kansas.

Viewing will be held prior to services, Saturday at Atwood United Methodist Church.

A memorial has been established to the Atwood United Methodist Church for the United Methodist Woman division.
