Missionary recovering from bout of typhoid
BURKINA FASO, West Africa -- Tenielle Lytle, the 23-year-old daughter of Michelle and Tim Lytle of McCook, Nebraska, is recovering from the fever, headache and stomachache of typhoid fever at the Sheltering Wings orphanage in which she serves in Burkina Faso, West Africa.
"She had a good birthday, Saturday," Michelle said Thursday afternoon, and has gotten sick since then.
Tenielle wrote on her Facebook that on April 9, she preached and sang at a small church about 20 kilometers away. "They were very excited and sang many songs and danced to Jesus. I ended up singing six songs throughout the service, praying many times for them, and sharing what the Lord placed on my heart. It was truly a blessing from the Lord and God's presence was there."
On her birthday April 13, Tenielle wrote: "It was a great day! We killed a pig in the courtyard and ate it together in the orphanage tonight. The kids had so much fun with that and just being with them made my day truly amazing and filled with God's glory."
Several of the children in the orghanage are also suffering the symptoms of typhoid.
Tenielle splits her time between the orphanage in Burkina Faso, the City of Angels orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico, and her home in McCook. She traveled to West Africa Dec. 1, and plans to return to McCook in August.
Michelle writes on her own Facebook page that it's hard for her to be so far from her daughter when she's ill, "but I KNOW that her Heavenly Father is in control!" Michelle asks for prayers for her daughter's and the orphans' healing.
