Sarah 'Peg' Hime

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Sarah "Peg" Hime, age 93, of McCook, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, in Omaha, Nebraska, where she had lived for the past five months.

Sarah Florence Martin was born in Hopkins, Missouri, to A. D. Martin and Chloe May (Head) on Aug. 15, 1919. As a young child, she moved from Missouri with her family to Riverton, Wyoming. Peg had a sister, Betty Swan and three brothers, Davis, Jack and Bob Martin. All preceded her in death.

Peg graduated from St Luke's School of Nursing in December 1941. On June 5, 1941, she married James Hime of Lander, Wyoming. During the war they lived in Visalia, California, and after the war moved to Denver, Colorado, before moving back to Riverton. They moved to McCook in 1958. Jim passed away in 1990.

Peg is survived by a sister, Joan Matula (Dick) of Gordon, Nebraska and four children: twins Martin Hime (Diane) of Aurora, Colorado and Susan McWhorter (Steve) of Omaha, Nebraska, John Hime (Amy) of Whitewood, South Dakota and Jane Clifford (Dennis) of Valparaiso, Nebraska. She is lovingly remembered by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending for a memorial service to be in McCook, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to United Methodist Church 105 East E Streets, McCook, NE 69001.
