Nellie Jean Trosper

CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- Nellie Jean Trosper went to meet her heavenly Father on Jan. 18, 2013, at the age of 86 years. She entered this world on Jan. 23, 1926 ,to Harry and Mabel (Barnhart) Williams on the family farm north of Cambridge.

She attended country school then graduated Valedictorian from Cambridge High School in 1943. She received her Normal School Certificate and taught country school north of Cambridge in 1944 and 1945.

Nellie Jean married Fredrick Trosper on Feb. 24, 1946, in Norton, Kansas. To this union three children were born: Norman, Connie and Don.

Nellie Jean and Fred farmed south of Cambridge from 1946 till 1953 when they moved to town. She owned and operated the Frontier Café from 1957 till 1989. when health concerns caused her to retire.

She loved her garden, flowers, sewing and quilting. The Cambridge Trojans and Nebraska Cornhuskers were her favorite teams. She was a life-time member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents: brothers: Irwin; Dale; Robert; Willard and a sister: Wilma.

Surviving Nellie Jean are her husband: Fred; daughter: Connie; son Norman and wife, Joyce, all of Cambridge; Don and wife, Janet of Wilsonville, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Pauline Williams of Clarksville, Arkansas.

Funeral services will be at the First Congregational Church in Cambridge on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. with Bill Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
