Letter to the Editor

Please keep your eyes on the road

Friday, August 24, 2012

Dear Editor,

This is a message to the young lady who was talking to her child in the back seat, ran the stop sign, and was one second away from running over me on my motorcycle. You looked me right in the eye as you went by andmouthed some words like "I'm so sorry," and drove on. I should have followed you and spoke to you personally. Instead, please heed these words and don't ever forget them.

Don't ever take your eyes off the road in front of you and beside you. Be alert at all times. Don't be distracted, take driving seriously. Realize the potential of the speeding vehicle you control. Don't let anyone behind you intimidate you or cause your attention to wander. Our lives are in your hands. I praise Jesus that I'm typing this letter instead of lying in the hospital paralyzed. One more thing. Don't be looking at a map and try to drive at the same time. Pull over to look at directions or a map. I speak from personal experience.

Sincerely,

George R. Anderson

  • Rightly, and Well said. Thank you George.
