'A hot summer night'

Friday, August 3, 2012

Tom and Patsy Jones of Danbury, Nebraska, open for "The Tumbling Dice Band," from the Front Range of Colorado, for McCook National Bank's first "Hot Summer Nights" concert of 2012, in Norris Park in McCook, Nebraska, Thursday evening. The Joneses sang of the heat and drought in "Trouble in the Fields," and the never-say-die attitude of small-town America in "This Old Town." Tumbling Dice lead singer Annie Gavin fronts the band that blends high-energy country and rock; behind her are guitar players Bill Kerr (at right) and Tom Duke, Art Noble on the drums, and Kevin Healy on the keyboard. MNB plans its next "Hot Summer Nights" concert Thursday, Aug. 16, with Caleb Hawley and special guests, "The Talbott Brothers." The concert is free of charge; bring lawn chairs.
