McCook Mayor Berry endorses Jon Bruning

Lincoln, Nebraska -- Nebraska Attorney General and U.S. Senate Candidate Jon Bruning has announced that he has the endorsement of McCook Mayor Dennis Berry. Bruning is running to replace retiring Senator Ben Nelson.

"Mayor Berry is a trusted official with a long history of public service in McCook," said Bruning.

"He's a good friend and I'm honored to receive his endorsement."

Bruning has also been endorsed by Red Willow County Attorney Paul Wood and Red Willow County Sheriff Gene Mahon.

  • No suprise. Mayor Berry was Red Willow County chair for Jon Bruning in both his runs for Attorney General. He was county chair for Senator Chuck Hagel, for Mike Johanns when he ran for Governor and for Senate. County Chair for both Dave Heinemann runs for Governor. The Mayor's wife is friends with the Governor's wife and sits on the Mansion renovation committee. Mayor Berry has been friends with all of them even before they were elected. He has a history of leaning to the right and supporting his conservative Republican friends.

  • Thanks for the memories Dennis. Your post reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Jimmy kept referring to himself in third person. Jimmy likes Elaine...Jimmy wants to go to the movies,Jimmy comes to the gym every day. He cracks me up.
