McCOOK, Nebraska -- St. John's Guild, rural McCook, met April 10, with Julie Lytle serving as hostess.

The Rev. Kevin Schnakenberg led the Bible study titled "The Reason, Because..."

Wendy Reiners called the business meeting to order. There were seven members present, along with Pastor Schnakenberg. The minutes of the March meeting were read and approved and the treasurer's report was given.

A thank you note for lap robes received was read from Willow Ridge.

The quilting group reported that they had completed 270 quilts this year, which have been or will be distributed to the Pantry, area nursing homes, the Orphan Grain Train and other charitable organizations.

The group will help serve Senior Breakfast May 12 at Southwest High School.

Members were reminded about the Lutheran Women's Missionary League workshop set for April 21 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson.

Wendy Reiners and Julie Lytle read Christian life articles.

The next meeting is May 8, with Joann Martin as hostess.

The meeting closed with a hymn and the Lord's Prayer.
