BEAVER CITY, Nebraska -- Hethie E. Tanner, 93, of Beaver City, died Thursday (March 22, 2012), at the Beaver City Manor.

She was born Sept. 4, 1918, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Andrew and Nellie (Hannon) Randall. She grew up in the Denton, Nebraska area.

She married Vernon Tanner on June 12, 1949 at her parents home in Lincoln. They farmed in the Precept area until 1958, when they moved to a farm South of Beaver City. They lived on the farm until 1997, when they moved to Norton, Kansas to be near family.

Her husband, Vernon died March 19, 2006. She moved to Beaver City Manor at Beaver City, Nebraska on Jan. 21, 2010.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Beaver City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon in 2006; sons; Dennis in 1978 and Arlen in 1990; three sisters: Pearl, Esther and Katherine; four brothers, Merle, Howard, Lloyd and Royal; and two great grandsons.

Survivors include her son, Steve Tanner and wife, Donna of Norton, Kansas; daughter, Marjorie and husband, Norman Kingham of Almena, Kansas; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are Saturday, March 24, 2012, 4 p.m. at Union Cemetery, rural Beaver City, with Pastor Jim Nichol officiating.

Viewing and visitation is Friday, March 23, 2012, from 2 until 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 24, 2012, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City.
