Missing 'Bindi'

Dear Editor,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Gazette, particularly Connie Jo Discoe, who wrote the article about my missing bird "Bindi." I would also like to thank the people of the area for reminding me why I chose to live here.

The calls of support and tips on how I may retrieve Bindi I received were very helpful and encouraging.

Thanks to the article that appeared in the Gazette on 6/10/11, I received a call Friday night that did not bring the news I had held out hope for, but did allow me closure.

"Bindi's" body had been found in a hog tank east of Indianola several days ago.

Because of the article, the people who had found her retrieved her body and brought it into McCook for me. Thanks again to all who kept their eyes open and had done some extra bird watching on my behalf. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
