Many thanks

Dear Editor,

I want to thank the community for supporting my Adopt-a-Chaplain project in sending boxes for our troops in Afghanistan. I received many many bags and boxes of wonderful items plus donations of money. Last Tuesday, Nov. 23 I sent our 91st box. This year my boxes were the large priority flat-rate boxes so they held a lot more goodies. Most touching were the large number of cards and letters that were included in the boxes.

I had a great group of ladies helping me pack and tape the boxes and we had a great time doing this project. The Chaplain has received several of the boxes already.

In January I will start again, not sending as many boxes at one time but several once a week. I am sending out thank-you notes but if you haven't received one in the next 2 weeks please accept my apology. It seems my computer lost some of my list of names, so I will do things differently next time.

  • It is our THANKS to you, Ann, that need be heralded from the roof-tops. Ninety-One, PLUS, PLUS, troops, will enjoy your heartwarming gifts. I say 'plus, plus,' because I believe the troops are much the same as when Dick and I were serving. The recipients will share, without being asked, with those who cover their lives, in a reciprocity of love,and survival, difficult to explain, or comprehend, unless having been in 'Harms-Way,' as they are.

    You are a Lady, worth knowing, and Crowing about Knowing. AMEN
