Don't tear it down

Monday, October 25, 2010

Dear Editor,

I was born in McCook. My relatives go back before the Civil War in this area. I like the old buildings in McCook, like West Ward.

I don't want to see it torn down by people not born here making decisions for us.

I've heard West Ward is redoable and would cost less than tearing down West Ward and design ing and building a new police/fire/council unit.

The City Council should stay at the auditorium (with no one coming to the meetings, they have room enough.) They would be vacating it for what? To tear it down. The auditorium. They want you to believe it will not cost us to build a new P/F/C unit. When does any tax not cost us? When pigs fly ...

When have McCook churches been at the council meetings? To be watchers over our city and nation? You, the people, were not given a chance to vote on the tearing down of West Ward. The contract was signed early.

Contracts can be broken. We, the people, cannot have an abundant life like the Lord says when we let people run over us and vote their own salary. The devil comes to steal and kill and destroy, the Bible said.

Please vote against the bond issue.

Respectfully,

Vicki Drake,

McCook
