NORTH PLATTE, Nebraska -- Sally M. Bennett, 77, died Thursday (July 15, 2010), at her home at Lake Maloney.

She was born May 25, 1933, to Walter and Julia "DeEtte" Kronquest Bachman in North Platte. She graduated from North Platte High School in 1951.

On Aug. 10, 1952, she was united in marriage to Lynn D. Bennett.

She was employed as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell and was involved with the school lunch programs.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, singing in the choir and being a member of the bell choir for more than 50 years. She served as a board member on the Lake Maloney Property Owners Association. She was also a member of the North Platte Quilters Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and son-in-law, Lonny Klinkebiel.

Survivors include her husband, Lynn of North Platte; daughters, Connie Bennett of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Roxanne Klinkebiel of Holbrook, Crystal and husband, Gary Broeder of Erie, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were today at First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.

Visitation was Saturday and Sunday.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
