CAMBRIDGE -- Clarence W.H. Niemeier, 88, formerly of Holbrook, died Saturday (March 13, 2010) at the Cambridge Manor in Cambridge.

He was born Aug. 7, 1921, near Holbrook to Ernest and Minnie (Mues) Niemeier. He grew up on the family farm near Holbrook. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, where he also attended school through 8th grade.

On March 4, 1954, he married Norma Lee Strong.

He worked for Bushman Construction Company that took him through Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota and Iowa. He moved back to Holbrook in 1975, where he worked for the Farmer's Coop pumping gas and hauling fuel for many years before retiring. He moved into the Cambridge Manor in 2007.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; his parents, Ernest and Minnie; three sisters, Malinda Niemeier, Sophia Mock and Louise Lemmon; and two brothers, Walter and Herman Niemeier.

Survivors include his son, Gerald and wife, Bonnie Niemeier of Omaha; grandchildren, Danielle and husband, Jason Kirchhevel of Omaha and Jason Niemeier and Valerie Niemeier of Omaha; great-grandchildren Abram and Olivia Kirchhevel of Omaha.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe with the Vicar James Moshier officiating. Burial will be at St. Matthews Cemetery in Arapahoe.

Viewing and visitation is today, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home and prior to the service on Tuesday.
