Smith statement on anniversary of Roe v. Wade

Friday, January 22, 2010

WASHINGTON -- Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE), a member of the House Pro-Life Caucus, today released the following statement marking the 37th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision. On January 21, Smith addressed members of Nebraska United for Life taking part in the March for Life rally being held today in Washington D.C.

"A society can be judged by how it treats its most innocent members, and no life is more innocent than an unborn child. Protecting life -- born and unborn -- is a priority for this nation.

"President Ronald Reagan once said 'We cannot diminish the value of one category of human life -- the unborn -- without diminishing the value of all human life.' Those words continue to ring true to millions of Americans. I remain committed to this most worthy cause," Smith said.
