Elsie E. (Scott) Macy

OBERLIN -- Elsie E. (Scott) Macy, 85, died Sunday (Dec. 27, 2009) at the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin, Kan.

She was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Decatur County to Henry Scott and Bertha Cooper. She grew up on a Decatur County farm near Oberlin and attended Decatur County District no. 7.

On May 11, 1943, she married Leon "Slim" Macy in Oberlin, where they resided and she was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; brothers, Harold and Kenneth; and sister, Thelma Allen.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Macy and wife, Betty of Potwin, Kan.; her sister, Shirley Koch of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are today, at 2 p.m., at Oberlin Cemetery, with interment to follow.
