Hastings College's Ducey earns NAIA Division II All-American honors again

HASTINGS -- Lindsay Ducey, a junior from Omaha, capped off another fantastic year by being named to the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball All-America First Team.

This is the second time Ducey has been honored on the First Team. She was a First-Team All-America selection in 2007-08.

Ducey is one of five GPAC players to be named to the 1st Team this year.

Dani Gass from Morningside College was named the NAIA Player of the Year.

Ducey helped guide the Broncos to a runner-up finish in the NAIA National Tournament as she charted four double-doubles out of a possible five games.

The one game she didn't record a double-double, she was one rebound short.

The Great Plains Athletic Conference had five teams represented in the National Tournament, with three of them making it to the Final Four.

Ducey finished the regular season averaging 17.7 points per game and 9.1 rebounds a game.

Ducey led the team in blocks with 23 while dishing out 81 assists.

She finished the year shooting 49 percent from the floor and 87 percent from the free throw line. Hastings ended the year at 27-8 overall and 12-6 in the conference.

Ducey, Faimon named all-tourney -- Ducey and Hastings College teammate Kim Faimon were named to the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball All-Tournament team for their performances.

Ducey, a junior from Omaha, was named to the First Team. Faimon, a junior from Lawrence, was named to the second team.

Ducey recorded four double-doubles in five games for the Lady Broncos.

Faimon grabbed 15 steals in the Broncos five games. She scored 12 points in the final against Morningside College.

Faimon was also honored by being named with the National Tournament's Hustle Award for her relentlessness on the court.
