Paul Calvert

Paul Calvert of Columbus interviews for the superintendent's position Monday evening before the McCook Public Schools board of education. Calvert has served as superintendent of Akron-Westfield, Iowa; at Creek Valley (Chappell and Lodgepole) Public Schools and currently, at Columbus Lakeview Public Schools. He is applying for the position that will be vacated June 30 by two-year interim superintendent Dave Schley. Calvert answered 18 questions, the same questions that will be asked of fellow candidates Rick Haney of McCook on Tuesday evening, Grant Norgaard of Leigh on Wednesday evening and Vernon Fisher of Lincoln on Thursday evening. To maintain fairness for each candidate, the questions will not be disclosed by the Gazette until all candidates have completed their board interviews. Each candidate, during the morning following his board interview, will visit with administrators, certificated and classified personnel and members of the public, and tour school facilities.
