INDIANOLA -- Clarence R. Madden, 84, of Indianola, died Dec. 26, 2008, at St. John's Care Center in Kearney.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at St. Catherine's Church in Indianola. The Rev. Thomas McGuire will officiate. Interment will be in the Indianola Catholic Cemetery.

A rosary will be 7 p.m., Tuesday at the church. There will be no visitation.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Clarence was born Aug. 28, 1924, in Indianola. He was united in marriage to Helen Silvester 40 years ago after which the couple lived in Indianola. He was self-employed, Stubb's Iron & Metal for more than 40 years.

Survivors include wife Helen; sons, John Madden, Michael Madden and Dallas Silvester; daughters, Julie Brenning, Kay Dezonia, Peggy Garcia and Linda Madden; sister, Pat Tines, Mary Gill, Esther Joseph and Cecelia Hertz. Other survivors include Ashley and Alishia Garcia.

He was preceded in death by parents, John and Elizabeth "Bess" (Colling) Madden; son, James Madden; daughter, Sonya Schleman; and brother, Cecil Madden.
