McCook man sentenced on forgery and failure to register charges
A McCook man was sentenced in District Court Monday on forgery charges along with failing to register as a sex offender.
Frank Charles Roosa, 41, of 304 W. Third, was originally charged with 14 counts of forgery, Class I misdemeanors, failing to register as a sex offender, a Class IV felony and tampering with a witness, a Class IV felony. In a plea agreement, he pleaded guilty to the forgery charges and failing to register as a sex offender, with the tampering with a witness charged dismissed.
He was sentenced to 24 months Intensive Community Based Intervention probation.
The charges stem from Roosa allegedly writing checks on another person's account in McCook from December 2007 to February 2008 and failing to notify the Red Willow County Sheriff's Office when he moved from his residence.
Also seen in District Court Monday were two others arraigned on drug charges.
Steven A. Path, 38, of McCook, pleaded guilty to attempt to obtain possession of a controlled substance, hydrocodone, a Class IV felony.
Sentencing is set for August 18 at 2 p.m.
In plea agreement, Wendy Ulmer, 32, of McCook, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, methamphatamine, a Class IV felony.
Sentencing is set for August 18 at 1:30 p.m..
