Martin 'Marty' Huxoll

CAMBRIDGE -- Martin "Marty" Huxoll, age 72, of Cambridge, died at the Golden Care Center in Franklin, Neb., on June 9, 2008.

He was born near Arapahoe, Neb., on April 6, 1936, to Fred and Louise ((Koteman) Huxoll.

On Sept.10, 1955, Marty married Brenda King in Smithfield, Kan. Marty was a life long farmer.

Marty enjoyed hunting deer and elk. He made several trips to Colorado to hunk elk. He enjoyed sporting events, liked to ride horses and go on trail rides. He was the secretary-treasurer of the Cambridge Rural Fire Board for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Laurel Huxoll.

Marty is survived by his wife, Brenda of Cambridge; four sons, Doug and wife, Susi of Cambridge, Mike and wife, Cheryl of Hendley, Mitch of North Platte and Kurtis and wife, Susan of Cambridge; eight grandchildren; six sisters, Marge ten Bensel, Violet Hilker, Jane Tracey and Isabella Phieffer, all of Arapahoe, and Bette Riepe and Twila Golter, both of Flagstaff, Ariz.

Graveside services will be Thursday, June 12, 2008, at 10 a.m., at Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge, with Bill Weaver officiating.

Memorials may be left in Mart's name to either the Cambridge Museum or the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Cambridge.
