John Earl Ford, 59, of Cambridge, Neb., passed away on April 18, 2008, after a brief illness. He was born on March 10, 1949, in Topeka, Kan., to Jane and AH Ford, Jr. He graduated from high school in Hammond, VA and graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas with a teaching degree. John retired from the State of Texas in 2004. He lived life to its fullest and always worked in a capacity where he could help and serve others. He loved the outdoors, fishing, gardening and spending time on his family's ranch.

John is survived by his fiancee, Carol Hanes of Cambridge, Neb., mother, Jane Ford, of Leesville, La., children, Joshua Ford of Waxahachie, Texas, Kimberly Ford of Waxahachie, Texas, Robbie Milam and his wife Melanie of Little Elm, Texas, Kimberly McFadden and her husband Heath of Rowlett, Texas; and grandchildren, Lexi Ford, Cameron Ford, Zach Zbylut, Madison and Aidan McFadden; his brothers and sisters, Henry Ford of Detroit, Texas, Jerry Ford of Bonham, Texas, Charles Ford of Russellville, Ark., Dennis Ford of Arp, Texs, Dorcus Melia of Sugarland, Texas, Rick Ford of Longview, Texas, Bill Ford of Warrentown, Va., Peggy Alford of Leesville, Ark., Donald Ford of Ardmore, Tenn., Ruth Etheridge of North Little Rock, Ark., and Donna Jackson of Leesville, La., their spouses, many nieces and nephews, cousins and other loving family members and friends.

John was an incredibly kind, loyal and generous family man that we cherished and will greatly miss.

A service celebrating John's life was held at Fry Gibb's Funeral Home in Paris, Texas.
