MCC softball team sweeps Central

COLUMBUS -- The McCook Community College softball team swept a doubleheader from Central Community College Tuesday at Columbus.

MCC won the first game 12-4 and the second game 21-9. The Indians improved to 26-28 overall and 3-19 in Region IX play.

In the first game, Tiffany Lokken went 3 for 4 with a homer and 3 RBIs. Lauren Levia went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Tasha Birch went 3 for 3 wuth a double and 2 RBIs.

Jessica Martinez got her seventh win of the season.

In Game 2, Lokken went 4 for 4 with a double, 2 home runs and 6 RBIs. Kendra Carmouche went 3 for 4 with 3 doubles and 3 RBIs. Amber Thompson went 4 for 5 with a triple and 3 RBIs. Leiva went 3 for 5 with a double and 3 RBIs. Erin Kinsey picked up her 8th win of the season.

The Indians' home doubleheader against North Platte, originally scheduled for Wednesday, will be played Monday at the Jaycee Sports Complex. First pitch is slated for 4:30 p.m.
