McCook freshman boys A, B teams swept by Holdrege

The McCook High School freshman boys basketball A and B teams both lost to Holdrege Tuesday at the MHS gymnasium.

The A team was outscored 16-8 in the first quarter and trailed at halftime 38-11.

Keith Wallace led the Bison A team with 14 points. Cody Goltl added 7, Ryan Powell 3, Nate Priebe 2 and Grant Wilcox 2.

The Bison B team was shut out 18-0 in the first quarter and trailed at halftime 29-8.

Priebe, Branden Yost and Greg Stafford each scored 6 points to lead the Bison. Powell scored 4, Cameron Park 2, Wilcox 2 and Tanner Steinhour 2.

"We had trouble handling their pressure, and couldn't make our shots when we did get good looks," said McCook freshman boys coach Jason Cochran.

The Bison freshman boys and girls teams play at Hershey Tuesday in the their final games of the season. The girls play at 4 p.m. and the boys at 5:30 p.m.
