OBERLIN -- Doris L. Miller, 77, died Thursday (Jan. 24, 2008) at Decatur County Hospital.

She was born June 9, 1930, in Russell County, Kan., to William and Mary (Heil) Tittel. She grew up in Russell, Kan., and graduated from Russell High School in 1948.

She married Raymond Miller in April of 1951, in Russell. She lived in McAllister, Okla., Russell, Chase, Hutchinson, Lyons and Burlington, Kan., before moving to Oberlin in 1976. She worked as a printer and coached softball.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Fern Tittel.

Survivors include her son, Roger Miller and wife, Tammy of Clarksville, Tenn., and Richard Miller and wife, Wendy of Loveland, Colo.; daughter, Connie Hunter and husband, Jack of Lyons, Kan.,; brother, Ralph Tittel and wife, Kay of Pea Ridge, Ark.; sisters, Verdie Peddycord and husband Clyde of Greeley, Colo., and Ruth Pickering and husband, Don of Wichita, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were today at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Russell, with the Rev. Charlotte Strecker-Basler officiating.

Memorials may be given to Decatur County Recreation for Youth Softball.

Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin is in charge of arrangements.
