CAMBRIDGE -- The Cambridge Trojan boys got defensive against the Wauneta Palisade Broncos during the season's first home game Friday night. The Trojans defeated the Broncos 51-38.

Leading scorers were Troy Hayes with 13 points, Dillon Mowry with 11, Pake Hilker with 10 and Jackson Johnson with 9.

"We got a hand in the shooters' faces and did a nice job of boxing out," said Cambridge boys coach Chris Barr. "Our offense still needs to make the simple plays and our turnovers have to be limited.

"The boys played a good tempo game against a good shooting team. I'm really proud of the effort the team is giving. It's hard to learn a new system and the team has done a nice job of picking it up and running with it."

The Trojans play at home tonight against Southern Valley at 7:30 p.m.
