Key matchups headline Friday night football

The high school football season will reach the halfway point Friday night. Friday is Week 5 of the nine-week regular season.

Two games that headine Friday night will be the Hayes Center/Wauneta-Palisade game and the Perkins County/Garden County game.

Hayes Center and Wauneta-Palisade are both undefeated, with a 4-0 records in Class D-2. The Broncos are ranked fourth and the Cardinals are fifth. The Broncos host the Cardinals at 7 p.m. mountain time.

Perkins County is also 4-0 and is ranked number 3 in C-2. That game also begins at 7 p.m. mountain time.

Also ranked in C-2 is Cambridge. The Trojans are fifth. Cambridge hosts neighboring Southwest.

Undefeated McCook is on the road this time against Sidney. The Bison are ranked No. 2 in Class B by the Omaha World-Herald behind Crete and are 4-0.

The Maywood Tigers (3-2) host Wallace (3-2). Medicine Valley is on the road at Hitchcock County and Southern Valley is home with Minden.

Chase County will take a trip up to Chadron, Dundy County has Leyton at home and Arapahoe travels to Alma.

In Kansas football, neighboring Oberlin and Rawlins County will face off in Atwood, Saint Francis is at Hoxie and Cheylin hosts Northern Valley.
