What? No art?

Dear Editor,

It was my privilege recently to spend a week in McCook as the judge and instructor for the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs conference. I was stunned to learn that elementary and junior high kids in McCook do not have art programs in their schools.

Art is a vital component in the learning process and offers kids a constructive way to express themselves.

I hope to have the opportunity to visit McCook again soon, and I'd very much like to see and assist with any new art program.
