Letter to the Editor

Above it all

Monday, April 23, 2007

Dear Editor,

I was troubled by Dick Trail's last opinion column. While Trail's belief that not wearing a seatbelt is a sin is a little ridiculous, my problem comes with him insinuating that New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine deserved to be in the crash.

I would remind Trail that the crash left Corzine in critical condition, with a broken femur and on a ventilator. No one deserves that, especially not just because they are a "Big liberal Democrat" (Trail's words). What happened to backing up your arguments with facts like professional writers and newspapers do? "That is the way I see it" doesn't carry much weight. However, I am not surprised as Trail's column portrays him as being above everyone even when he isn't flying, from the people who socialize at Sarge's all the way to governor's of states.
