Zaruba, Lewis wedding

Regina and Joshua Lewis

KEARNEY -- Regina Zaruba and Joshua Lewis were united in marriage June 16, 2006, at St. James Catholic Church in Kearney with the Rev. Mike McDonald officiating.

Parents of the couple are Robert and Ruth Zaruba of Bennington and Pat and Ronda Lewis of Trenton. Grandparents of the bridegroom are Noel and Claudie Schnabel, and Dessie and the late Roy Lewis. His great-grandmother is Iva Schnabel.

Genevieve Junker served as maid of honor. Renae Zaruba, Rachel Micheal and Rhonda Robinson, sisters of the bride, were bridesmaids. Rebekah Lewis, sister of the bridegroom, was the junior bridesmaid and Traci Scheel was the bride's personal attendant.

Tom Lewis, brother of the bridegroom, served as bestman. Bridegroomsmen were Ryan Sapp, Jon Garner, Shawn Cole and Tom Slechta.

Tyler Slechta was the ringbearer and LeaAnn Michael, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. Ushers were Pat Michael, brother-in-law of the bride, Nick Svehla, AJ Landon, Shawn Engberg and Justin Everitt.

Soloists were Deidre and Andrew Drumheller and readers were Kristen Slechta and Sarah Mills. Guest book attendants were Bethany Spilde and Lindsey Lewis, cousin of the bridegroom.

A reception followed at the Ramada Inn. Host couples were Don and Jackie Liess. Cake servers were Alyson Thiessen, cousin of the bride and Paula Stanek, godmother of the bride.

The bride is a 2002 graduate from Bennington and will graduate in December 2006 from the University of Nebraska-Kearney with a degree in special education. The bridegroom is a 1999 graduate from Trenton High School and a 2004 graduate from the University of Nebraska Kearney with a degree in social sciences. He is employed as a teacher at Hershey High School.

After a honeymoon in Niagra Falls the couple is making their home in North Platte.
