ATWOOD?--?Teresa Lorraine (Weldon) Woody 78, died Thursday (Nov. 16, 2006) at Good Samaritan Center in Atwood.

She was born July 6, 1928, in Carlsbad, N.M., to William and Elsie (Kircher) Weldon. She grew up in Carlsbad and worked in caverns while attending Carlsbad High School.

She married Dean Woody on March 15, 1944. She was the manager of the Elks Lodge in Wray, Colo., and Carlsbad for 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Jim, Phil and Billy Weldon, and two sisters, Dorothy Metalka and Mary Frances Lunardon.

Survivors include her sons, Dennis and wife, Susan of Buckeye, Ariz., and Steven and wife, Lisa of Ludell; two sisters, Mildred Monk and husband, Charles and Virginia Pinckert both of Carlsbad, N.M.; one brother, Richard Weldon and wife, Sis of Carlsbad, N.M.; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m., at the Courts of Praise Church in Atwood, with the Rev. Kent Morgan officiating. Interment will be at the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colo., with a private family graveside service.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in her name to Hospice Service, Inc., or the Atwood Good Samaritan Center.
