The McCook Junior High School girls finished third with 44 points and the boys were sixth with 76.

"There is one thing about the Broken Bow meet you can count on it raining about every other year," said McCook cross country coach Tom Sughroue.

"I believe it has rained on us at least three times over the past six years. Rain and running go hand in hand, our team likes to run in the rain. You don't have to worry about the heat, needing water, you just run.

"I was pleased with the results of the meet. After running on Thursday and having homecoming on Friday. The kids were a little on the tired side. We would like to finish a little higher in the team points, but I believe that will come with time."

The top finisher for the McCook boys was Carson Kain, who finished 51st in the 5K race with a time of 20:09.

Eustis-Farnam's top boys runner was Ben Kugler, who was 45th with a time of 19:49.
