Biblical questions
Monday, June 19, 2006
Dear Editor,
Leviticus 25:44 states I may own slaves as long as I get them from neighboring nations. A respectable man here in Palisade claims this only applies to Mexicans. Why can't I own some Canadiens?
Exodus 21:7 says I may sell my daughter into slavery. She is 15, healthy, and quite strong. Should I get more than $100 for her?
Exodus 35:2 says a man who works on the sabbath should be put to death. My neighbor works on the Sabbath quite often. He's much larger than I. Do I have to kill him by myself?
Thank you for any wisdom you impart.
