Bortner, Whitten wedding

Brenda and Brad Whitten

LINCOLN -- Brenda Bortner and Brad Whitten were married July 23, 2005, at Highland Community Church in Lincoln with the Rev. Mike Carter officiating.

Parents of the couple are Bill and Carol Bortner and Stan and Jeannine Whitten, all of McCook. Grandparents are Gene and Geraldine Bortner. Great-grandmothers are Helen Schlegel and Dorothy Bortner, all of McCook.

The matrons of honor were Becky McIntosh of North Platte and Bonnie Terry of McCook, both sisters of the bride. The bridesmaid was Kaylynn Williamson of Lincoln. Flowergirls were Abbee Terry, niece of the bride and Hannah Isherwood, niece of the bridegroom. Ringbearer was Cooper McIntosh, nephew of the bride.

Best man was Boyd Uehling, and bridesmen were Brent Isherwood of Parker, Colo., and Jason Dahlstedt of Kearney, both brothers-in-law of the bridegroom. Ushers were Clint Johnson, Josh Pollman, and Bryan Pettera, all of McCook.

The Acolytes were Sheila Isherwood, sister of the bridegroom, and Doug Terry, brother-in-law of the bride. Vocalist and guitarist were Scott and Mason Moritz of Lincoln. Jenae Dahlstedt of Kearney, sister of the bridegroom, served as the guest book attendant.

The bride's personal attendant was Bobbie Bortner of McCook, sister-in-law of the bride. Program attendants were Justin Terry and Cashous Bortner, nephews of the bride. Bubble attendants were Coy Terry, nephew of the bride and Corine Bortner, niece of the bride.

A dinner and dance followed the ceremony at Highlands Country Club. Reception hosts were Elda Heckenlively of Kearney, aunt of the bride, Bret Bortner of McCook, brother of the bride and Doug Terry, brother-in law of the bride.

After the honeymoon the newlyweds are making their home in Lincoln.
