Bison freshman

boys rip Lex

McCook's freshman boys basketball teams pushed past Lexington Tuesday.

The A team won 61-44 and the B team 47-29.

"Defensively we played a great game," said Bison coach Bill Beckenhauer.

Seth Schaeffer led the A team in scoring with 19 points.

Zach Wieser trailed with 16 points.

Taylor Garcia was the top scorer for the Bison B team with 10 points. Aaron Ruppert had 9 points.

Joe Vetrovsky and Austin Larson added 6 points each.

Lexington's Kurtis Gierhan had 12 points for the A team.

Cam Arajuo followed with 11 points.

Spencer Long and Caleb Hock each had 6 points for the Lexington B team. Nate Arajuo had 5 points.

Bison 9th girls

2-0 vs. Lexington

The McCook High School freshman girls basketball teams picked up a couple wins on Tuesday at home against Lexington.

The Bison A team defeated Lexington 47-25.

They were led in scoring by Danae McCorkle with 11, Kali Lyons with 9 and Joanna Bryant with 7. Kali Lyons led in rebounds with 6.

"We attacked well, especially later in the game," said McCook coach Jon Graff. "The girls played a nice game. We improved our performance in several areas, but still have room to improve."

The Bison B team defeated Lexington 54-11. Tara Powell led all scorers with 15 points. Audrie Krepcik added 11 and Amy Bean 6. "The girls played well and did a nice job of attacking to the basket," Graff said.

McCook plays at Colby next Tuesday.
