Jill R. Koslosky/NCTA Emily Cone of Burwell digs in as the NCTA Aggies won their final two matches of the season Thursday.

CURTIS -- The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture volleyball team finished its 2005 season in style on Tuesday night as the Aggies demolished Clubhouse of Maywood 30-9, 30-18, 30-25 and the UNK Club team 30-23, 28-30, 30-26, 30-20.

The triangular took place at the Curtis Gym.

In the Clubhouse match, the Aggies had a pretty easy going.

Codi Staub of Johnstown and Jenny Prior of Hastings led the scoring. Staub had 9 kills and 4 aces. Prior had 5 kills and 5 aces.

Jessica Bush of Arcadia and Sharina Buoy of Bassett both helped the cause with 3 aces each and Emily Cone of Burwell scored 8 points.

In the finale with UNK, the Aggies found the going a little more of a battle.

The hard spikes of the Aggies usually were returned by the club team from UNK.

Staub pounded out 13 kills and Kaytlyn Cooksey of Roggen, Colo., got 10 kills. Bush had 5 aces and Prior had 11 points to help secure the win.

The Aggies finish the season with a 10-7 record and placed solidly in the top 20 out of 50 teams in the region.

The NCTA volleyball team has a good chance of receiving postseason honors with some of the players nominated for Academic All-American titles.
