CAMBRIDGE -- Shirley M. Hyke, 74, died Sunday (Oct. 23, 2005) at the Cambridge Manor.

She was born Aug. 9, 1931, in Lincoln to Clyde and Leora (Davidson) Wolfe. She graduated from Lincoln High School.

She married Norman "Curly" Howe on Feb. 18, 1956, in Glenwood, Iowa. The couple moved to Wilsonville in 1972. He preceded her in death in 1977. She then married Floren "Shob" Hyke.

She was a member of the County Election Board in Hendley, the Wilsonville School Board and the Double 8s Club. She was also a Girl Scout leader.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Curly; a brother, Bob Wolfe; and a sister, Phyllis Hardesty.

Survivors include her husband, Floren "Shob" Hyke of Wilsonville; four daughters, Pam and husband, Dave Steiner of Omaha, Barbara Loshbaugh of Indianola; Dana and husband, Marc Samway of McCook and Dixie and husband, Glenn Landreth of Wilsonville; five sons, Robert Spry of McCook, William Spry of Lincoln, Bradley and wife, Mary Howe of Omaha, Bruce and wife, Cindy of Wood River and Dave and wife, Sharon Hyke of Hendley; a brother, Ronald and wife, Jeanette Wolfe of Dolan Springs, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Wanda Wolfe of Grand Island; a brother-in-law, Harvey Hardesty of Fairbury; 21 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at the Wilsonville Baptist/Christian Church with Keith Theobald officiating. Interment will be in the Wilsonville Cemetery.

Memorials are being accepted in her name at the Cambridge Manor or the Wilsonville Baptist/Christian Church.

Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge is in charge of arrangements.
