Stenberg stories

Friday, October 7, 2005

Dear Editor,

There seems to be a bit of poetic justice in placement of front page news in the 10-5-05 Gazette. In the feature on Don Stenberg's political aspirations, he said that his 12 years as Nebraska's attorney general earned him the reputation for doing what was right, not just "going along to get along."

In the story on passport fees directly below the Stenberg manifesto, we are reminded that in 1994, Mr. Stenberg was the one who decided that it was OK for district clerks in Nebraska to keep the $30 processing fee on passports.

Hmmmm! Hope this doesn't put me in the "blame America first" crowd.
