Leroy H. Wessel

SELDEN -- Leroy H. Wessel, 69, died Wednesday (June 29, 2005), at St. Catherine's Hospital in Garden City, Kan.

He was born Sept. 2, 1939, on a farm north of Seguin, Kan., to Leo and Mary Wessel. He was raised on the Seguin farm and attended Bloomfield School and Menlo High School. He graduated in 1953.

He was a farmer and a rancher.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Wessel; a sister-in-law, Harriet Wessel; a nephew, Kent Wessel; and great-nephew, Christopher Harris.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Wessel of Hoxie, Kan.; brother, Henry Wessel and wife, Janet Myers of Selden; and a sister, Dolores and husband, Jerry Dellers of Selden.

Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Selden with the Revs. Ben Saw and George Kochuvelikkakam officiating. Burial will be at the Selden Cemetery.

The vigil service will be Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden.

Visitation is Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday, 8-10 a.m., at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established.
