Potthoff, Scottsdale netters qualify for NJCAA tourney

Courtesy Former McCook High School tennis standout Adam Potthoff is a member of the Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College squad that qualified for the NJCAA Tournament in Dallas May 14-20.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Adam Potthoff, a McCook High School tennis alum and the Nebraska 2001 No. 2 State doubles champion, is a member of the Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College that has qualified for the NJCAA Tournament May 14-20 in Dallas.

Potthoff plays No. 1 doubles and No. 3 singles.

Potthoff, in his second year of tennis for the Artichokes, qualified at the Phoenix Regional by placing second in No. 3 singles and No. 1 Doubles.

To advance to the finals, players must place either first or second in one of the Regional Tournaments.

The Artichokes placed second overall -- just a few points shy of the winner Pima Community College.

After completeing his two-year career at Scottsdale, Potthoff plans to continue his tennis career at the University of Nebraska.
