LINCOLN -- LaVern E. Lyons, 84, died Sunday (Feb. 6, 2005) in Lincoln.

He was born March 29, 1920, in Hayes County.

He was a farmer and elevator manager.

He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; grandson, Noel; and brothers, Harold, Donald and Dale.

Survivors include daughters, Alice and husband, Ron Parker of Centennial, Colo., Iris and husband, Roger Winkelhake of Lincoln, Jennifer and husband, Bob Robinson also of Lincoln, Mary and husband, Dr. Howard Pachman of Omaha and Regina and husband, Maj. Doug Twyman of Martinez, Ga.; sons, Fred and wife, Penny Lyons of Issaquah, Wash., Bob and wife, Jane Lyons of Annadale, N.J., Bill and wife, Ginny Lyons of Colorado Springs, Colo., Richard and wife, Wilda Lyons of Lincoln and Bernie and wife, Ginger Lyons of Waverly; sister-in-law, Ardyth Exby of Montrose, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial is Friday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Lincoln with the Rev. Lyle Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation is today, after 5 p.m., at the funeral home.

The rosary is Thursday, 7 p.m., at Butherus, Maser, Love Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Memorials may be given to St. Vincent De Paul Society at St. John's Catholic Church.
