NEW ALMELO, Kan. -- Delores Elaine Slipke, 72, died Thursday (Feb. 3, 2005) at the Wynscape Nursing Center in Wheaton, Ill.

She was born Feb. 2, 1933, to Ivan and Thelma (Tapp) Gallentine in Atwood. He was raised in Clayton, Kan., and attended Clayton Grade School and High School. He graduated in 1951.

On April 8, 1953, she married Francis J. Slipke in New Almelo. She was a homemaker and an LPN.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Almelo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Francis Slipke.

Survivors include two sons, John F. and wife, Bridget Slipke of Simpsonville, S.C., and Curtis C. and wife, Paula Slipke of Chicago, Ill.;

brothers, John and wife, Ann Gallentine of Clayton, Kan., and Jerry and wife, Shirley Gallentine of Rapid City, S.D.; and five grandchildren.

Services are Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Almelo with the Rev. Vincent Thu Laing officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin and Tuesday, 8 a.m., until service time at the parish center in New Almelo.

Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
