ARAPAHOE -- Maxine Butter, 88, died Friday (Jan. 14, 2005) at the Arapahoe Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe.

She was born May 9, 1916, in Hayes County to Thomas and Essie (Wiley) Ungles. She grew up and graduated from rural school in Palisade.

On June 1, 1933, she married Irving Coons and her preceded her in death in January 1953.

On June 3, 1954, she married Austine Liess and he died in 1958.

On June 18, 1959, she married Isaac Butter and her died on April 18, 1999. She resided in Colorado and Missouri before moving to Palisade in 1985. In 1999, she moved to Arapahoe.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; brothers, Victor, Elby and Kenneth Ungles, Fern and Lavern; and two sisters, Lois Burton and Pauline Goodson.

Survivors include three daughter, Barbara Jean Brunt and husband, Dale of Grand Island; Janett Colleen Burch of Newton, Kan., Judy Kay Robar and husband, Allen of Cambellsport, Wis.; one sister, Lorene Butter of Arapahoe; one sister-in-law, Arvella Ungles of Colorado Springs, Colo.; ten grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Palisade Cemetery in Palisade with Ray Riddlen officiating.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
